Chris Broome and Alan David will be giving an illustrated talk in the Village Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday 17 October, about the area of Nepal devastated by the catastrophic flood that occurred on the 26 August. Chris and Alan travelled along the valley of the Trishuli River, where the flood occurred, in October 2014 when we were on our way to trek in the nearby Langtang region. This region was also severely affected by the major earthquake that occured in April 2015. Chris will also talk about and give a demonstration of the water filters that he helps assemble at Aquabox in Wirksworth. Over 1500 of these filters have already been sent to the flood disaster area in Nepal and another 1000 are on their way. We hope to raise some money to help the relatives of a Nepalese friend, who lost a husband/father in the flood and are now struggling to support their families financially. There will be a £5.00 charge on the door for entry and any donations that people would like to give will be gratefully received. All of the money raised will be sent directly to the affected families through our trusted friend Bijay.

Bonsall. Village Hall held a very successful Autumn Fair on Saturday 8 November. The fair was well attended and we raised a huge £1089.

The Village Hall committee held the Autumn Fair on the 9th November, this is a fundraiser for the Village Hall and we are thrilled that £836.90 was made for the Hall. Thank you to the people who came and supported the event, the people and businesses who donated raffle prizes. The people and committee's other halves, who baked cakes, donated their time, manned stalls and helped in the kitchen. Good to see Judy Land, Trustee, back behind the counter and a big thank you to Leigh Johnson, Trustee, for his whiskey draw, which contributed to £186 to the fundraising.
